My whole life I have dreamed of being accepted into Texas A&M University, growing up I was raised as a die hard aggie fan from birth. But for me there was a huge difference in being fan and being an Aggie. Ever since I moved in this summer and attended my New Student Conference I knew that I was finaly a member of the Aggie family. The traditions were drilled into my head from New Student Conference and continued until this very day; and I have to say I am "The Loudest and the Proudest Member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2019" AAAAAAAAAAAAAA. That was one of the first things that they taught us to say at NSC and ever since then I try my best to live up to that statement and to be loud and proud of my Aggie family no matter what.
Another thing that I learned once I became an Aggie was that "Aggie do not lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do. The fact that I have the oppertunity to attend an University that is founded apon values that I can proudly uphold makes me prouder than ever. Ever since I started school this semseter I have also learned the core values that Texas A&M lives by, they are: Loyalty, Integrity, Excellence, Leadership, Selfless Service, and Respect. With these vaules as my guide I have no doubt in my mind that my time spent at Texas A&M will be the best and most impactful years of my life.
To end this post I'd like to talk about how much the traditions of Texas A&M and the fact that I am becomming the Aggie that I have always dreamed of being means to me. Tradition at A&M is something that you can't fully understand until you are a part of the traditions for your self. Muster and Silver Taps are traditions that honor aggies that we have lost and give us the oppertunity to show them our respect and recognition. Other traditions include Midnight Yell, Bonfire, The 12th Man, Howdy, Gig'em, Aggie Ring, and so much more. Over the next 4 years I can't wait to learn and live out each and every one of the traditions that are so special to my university. I am a Freshmen today but someday my time here will be done and I can only hope that I will have become one of the many Aggies in my Aggie family.
