Reading is something that is becoming more and more scarce in my generation. People don’t seem to understand the value in taking the time to read a book. Ever since I started my college career I have been asked to read many novels for numerous different classes. At first I was unsure about the many books that I was expected to read, but as I started reading them I learned many things that I never would of known without books. Reading is not only important for our education, but gives us a professional background and a deeper understanding for literature. If we never open a book and read we limit our selves from many different potential opportunities to better ourselves and become better educated.
