"We can't solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them."

-Albert Einstein

Solve Problems

Defined:

The ability to solve problems is one thing that every one needs in order to be able to think on their feet and get things done in a timely fashion. Problem solving is the ability to find a solution to a difficult question or situation, in doing this we develop the skills needed to handle any situation that comes our way.

Reflections:

When it comes to solving problems the most important thing is to evaluate the situation and find a way to fix the problem. In our lives there are going to be a million different situations that will have problems that we have no idea how to solve and these are the times when we have to use our problem solving skills to find a solution.

Problem solving isn't a skill that comes naturally, it is something that we develop overtime, and it is something that we struggle with at first; but in the end it all just comes naturally to us. In my personal experience the problems that we face every day seem like the end of the world. They feel as if they aren't ever going to get any better, but the truth of the matter is that every little problem that we solve creates in us a mind that is well equip to handle the larger problems that we have to handle some times.

Once we learn how to handle the problems that come our way, we are then capable of making everything the very best of every opportunity that we get. The ability to solve problems will be a quality that will set us apart out in the business world. Someone who handles difficult situations with an open mind and no judgment is one who will be helpful and successful when challenged out in the real world.

Life Experiences:

#1- My freshmen year in college so far has been on going challenge of trying to figure out what to do when situations and problems arose that I wasn't planning on happening. I think the one that has stuck with me the most was when I failed my first exam in economics. I learned well from Dr. Carter that "we can't define our selves by what we do" and that "mistakes are how we learn, how we succeed". In hearing this I realized that one bad test score doesn't define me, but instead I am defined by how I solve the problem and move on from it.  Problem solving is difficult and we have to work at solving our problems in a positive way and never giving up on our future success; and that's exactly what I planned to do in my economics class.
